Our Mission
Support the Traditional Latin Mass community, in North Alabama and beyond, devoted to the perennial religious and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. FoTLM is organized to buy, acquire, improve, renovate, preserve, develop, lease, and own real property to further the community’s growth and worship in the richness of tradition. We are a non-profit 501c3 charitable religious organization that supports the Traditional Latin Mass, and the community devoted to it.
Our story
The Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) community in North Alabama began in 2008 when local Catholics expressed a strong desire for the Latin Mass. Since then, the parish has seen significant growth, both in membership and in fostering Catholic culture through events and feast-day celebrations. In early 2024, the Friends of Traditional Latin Mass (FoTLM) was formed to support the ongoing development and needs of the TLM in North Alabama and beyond.
Phase 1: Property Purchase
The FoTLM Community raised the capital to purchase the property at 412 Cambridge Ave in Huntsville, AL to be used for TLM community activities including (but not limited to) parish activities and overflow parking. Phase 1 and Phase 2 are now complete.
Phase 2: Property Beautification
The process began with tearing down the existing home, clearing unneeded brush, and leveling the land to create a clean, open space. This foundational work set the stage for future improvements, ensuring the property is safe, visually appealing, and ready for the next phase of development.
Phase 3: Design & Construction
Phase 3 is building Saint Joseph's Hall, a beautiful Multipurpose Facility for the use by the local TLM parish. This will include developing the layouts, renderings, plans, and the building of this facility. We are now ready to go full speed ahead into a fund-raising and building campaign for this much needed facility.
